The Situation
NERA faced the task of making recommendations to the Indian Government for the development of a framework against a background of strong demand for gas, inadequate production and price distortions.
NERA's Role
NERA identified the core policy issues that needed to be settled in defining the new arrangements. The recommendations included detailed proposals and principles for new gas legislation and draft licenses and other regulations and procedures.
