The Situation
The UK was undergoing electricity industry reform.
NERA's Role
NERA was closely associated with one of the most radical and successful reform initiatives in the electricity industry anywhere in the world. NERA advised on the subdivision of the CEGB into successor companies.
The Result
NERA was responsible for initiating the approach to contracting, and was a major innovator in the design of new trading agreements: the England and Wales electricity pool.
