NERA Vice President James Heidell participated in the keynote panel, entitled "Biomass Government Policy Update and Outlook," at this biomass summit, being held in Washington, DC on 14-15 October 2010. As with other renewables, future biomass opportunities will largely be driven by the policy and regulatory environment being created at the federal and state level. Mr. Heidell and his co-panelists provided an update and outlook on government biomass policies that would drive the biomass to power industry. They also discussed the prospects for carbon legislation, a national renewable energy standard, expanded state RPSs, and the extension of tax credits.
