Transfer Pricing in China: Economic Issues and Insights, Part III
NERA recently held a series of events in China and Europe demonstrating the transfer pricing capabilities of NERA in China. During this seminar, Part III of the series, Principal Sébastien Gonnet provided an overview of the recent transfer pricing developments in China, including new regulations, tax audit trends, and the status of the Advance Pricing Agreement program being developed in China. He discussed the challenges faced by MNEs who have operations in China, particularly in structuring transfer pricing for their operations and the impact that this structuring has on corporate income taxes and China's high import duties. Mr. Gonnet emphasized that an adequate financial structuring of operations in China is crucial in reconciling taxpayers' ambitions with tax authorities' expectations, and is also ultimately a good platform for sustainable growth in China.
