NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Elizabeth Becker was invited to participate in the American Conference Institute's 17th national forum on wage and hour claims and class actions, held in Miami, Florida on 24-25 January 2013. Dr. Becker joined a panel of experts for a session entitled "Department of Labor Update: Responding to Enhanced Enforcement Initiatives and Aggressive Investigations." The panel discussed a number of timely topics, including how to manage the increased government activity in and scrutiny of wage and hour issues; developments in the DOL Wage and Hour Division's resolution of claims; which industries are being targeted most by the DOL; and DOL enforcement trends, including the frequency and type of claims being brought by the DOL and the impact enforcement efforts are having on employers.
