NERA Associate Director Daniel Radov delivered a presentation on issues related to allocation of emissions allowances at this emissions trading master class, hosted by Climex in Amsterdam on 14 February 2008. The program addressed the nature of the carbon market from analytical, political, environmental, and industrial perspectives. Mr. Radov's presentation, "Allowance Allocation in the EU ETS: Past, Present, and Future," examined the different options for allowance allocation and some advantages and disadvantages of each. He focused on how the different allocation methods work, what they are based on, and the consequences for companies' strategies for complying with emissions trading rules.
