A faculty of plaintiff and defense lawyers, judges, medical consultants, and economists convened at this Mealey's conference in Los Angeles on 3-5 March 2008 to discuss the latest trends in asbestos litigation. The conference examined the current litigation landscape and where litigation is heading, as well as current issues in medicine and asbestos insurance coverage. NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Faten Sabry participated in a panel discussion entitled "Role of the Bankruptcy Trusts in Civil Asbestos." Dr. Sabry discussed the impact of bankruptcy on solvent defendants and the role of product identification in forecasting liabilities. She also presented an update on recent trends in filings and settlements.
