The American Conference Institute held this conference in National Harbor, Maryland on 20-21 May 2008 to examine the current status of laws in the pharmaceutical antitrust arena. On the first day of the conference, NERA Vice President Dr. Alan (Jeff) Daskin delivered a presentation at a session entitled "The Law of Hatch-Waxman Patent Infringement Settlements and Where It Is Going." Dr. Daskin discussed a range of timely issues regarding settlements of Hatch-Waxman patent infringement suits, including recent controversies regarding so-called reverse payments.
