NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Vinita Juneja delivered a presentation at this CLE breakfast seminar, hosted by the Securities Industry and Finance Markets Association Compliance & Legal Division in New York City on 30 July 2008. The seminar provided an overview of the various issues arising out of the credit crisis. Dr. Juneja discussed a range of topics, including: an explanation of CDOs including the role of ratings agencies; implications for hedge funds in the credit crisis; how to assess causation, materiality, liability, and damages in subprime-related litigation; and class certification issues and liability and damages assessments in litigation and arbitration involving auction rate securities.
