NERA Director Dr. Emmanuel Llinares participated in this intellectual property summit, which was held in Brussels on 4-5 December 2008 to examine future reforms and best practices through selected case studies. On 5 December, Dr. Llinares took part in a workshop session entitled "IP Due Diligence: Assessing the Value and Potential Risks." The workshop covered a range of topics, including how to map portfolios and associated value through all subsidiaries; extending the scope of risks to ownership, trade secrets, potential litigation/opposition, and obligations; and how to turn IP costs and risks into benefits.
