New York, New York
12 February 2009
Hosted By: the International Swaps and Derivatives Association
The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), which represents participants in the privately negotiated derivatives industry, will host this workshop in New York City on 12 February 2009. Recent events in the derivatives markets have highlighted the importance of the ISDA documentation framework and ISDA's various initiatives. The workshop will provide an overview of the key provisions of the ISDA Master Agreement, product definitions and Credit Event Protocols, and a practical discussion of how these events are managed. NERA Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska will participate in a session entitled "Understanding the ISDA Credit Event Auction Mechanism and Auction Hardwiring." Dr. Brown-Hruska and Mark New, Assistant General Counsel at ISDA, will provide an overview of Credit Events under the 2003 ISDA Credit Derivative Definitions and an examination of how the ISDA Credit Event auctions work, including the role of the Protocols and how they relate to the Uniform Settlement Agreement. The session will also provide an update on progress of ISDA's Auction Hardwiring initiative.
