New York -- NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Dr. Elizabeth Becker has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President in its Employment and Labor Practice.

Dr. Becker has more than 15 years of experience in providing expertise in employment-related litigation support and consulting. She has directed a broad range of engagements in both discrimination and wage and hour class actions, and has presented testimony in state and federal court and in arbitration regarding class certification, liability, damages, and settlement.

"We are delighted to welcome Betsy to NERA," said Dr. Denise Neumann Martin, Senior Vice President and Chair of NERA's Employment and Labor Practice. "Her deep experience and broad expertise in employment and labor matters will be an asset to the firm."

Dr. Becker joins NERA from Huron Consulting Group, where she was a Managing Director. Dr. Becker also previously held an appointment as Assistant Professor of Economics at Clemson University.

In addition to her work in the employment area, Dr. Becker has evaluated claims of discrimination in lending, education, and law enforcement. She also has opined on statistical questions in a number of warranty claims and consumer class action matters.

Dr. Becker's research on labor economics, public finance, and gender differences in compensation has been presented at regional, national and international professional conferences, and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
