NERA Economic Consulting Announces Senior Management Appointments

New York -- NERA Economic Consulting, a global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today the appointments of new members to the NERA Management Committee and Board of Directors.
Dr. Philip Beutel, Senior Vice President, and Dr. Lauren Stiroh, Senior Vice President, have been appointed to NERA's Management Committee:
- Dr. Philip Beutel specializes in intellectual property (IP) economics, antitrust analysis, and evaluating commercial damages. He currently serves as Chair of NERA's Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Beutel holds a PhD and MA in economics from Duke University and a BS in economics from the University of Delaware.
- Dr. Lauren Stiroh specializes in the economics of antitrust, intellectual property, and commercial damages. Dr. Stiroh holds a PhD in economics from Harvard University and an MA in economics from the University of British Columbia.
The following NERA consultants have been appointed to NERA's Board of Directors for a three-year term:
- Dr. Elaine Buckberg, Senior Vice President. A member of NERA's Securities and Finance Practice, Dr. Buckberg directs projects in the areas of securities economics, finance, valuation, and regulation.
- Dr. Chudozie Okongwu, Senior Vice President. Dr. Okongwu, a member of NERA's Securities and Finance Practice, oversees securities economics, finance, and valuation projects, and he leads NERA's European Finance, Litigation, and Dispute Resolution business.
- Dr. Lawrence Wu, Senior Vice President. Dr. Wu is a member of NERA's Antitrust and Intellectual Property Practices. In the area of antitrust, Dr. Wu has evaluated the competitive effects of numerous mergers and acquisitions. With respect to intellectual property economics, Dr. Wu has testified on reasonable royalties, and he has written and consulted on issues involving patent pools.
