New York— NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Current Capital LLC Founder and Managing Director Jonathan F. Foster has affiliated with NERA’s Global Securities and Finance Practice.
An experienced investment banker, private equity investor, and corporate director, Mr. Foster’s consulting and expert testimony, part of Current Capital’s Portfolio Company Management services, are expected to focus on custom and practice in the securities industry, particularly with regard to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, valuation, and corporate governance.

Mr. Foster is Founder and a Managing Director of Current Capital, a private equity and portfolio company management firm focused on middle market and smaller industrial and business services companies. The firm’s portfolio company management services include managing portfolio companies and orphan assets for investors, sitting on Boards of Directors, and doing expert witness work. Clients have included major investment firms, large financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Foster spent most of his investment banking career at Lazard, where he was ultimately a Managing Director focused on mergers and acquisitions. Other previous positions include Managing Director and Co-Head of Diversified Industrials & Services at Wachovia Securities; Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co., overseeing Industrial Products & Services; a Partner at Cypress Group; Executive Vice President at Revolution Living; and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of toysrus.com.
Mr. Foster is a Member of the Boards of Directors of public and private companies and is a Trustee of the New York Power Authority. He is also a member of the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management Undergraduate Program Advisory Council at Cornell University. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Emory University and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, and has attended the Harvard Business Executive Education Program on Boards of Directors.
