NERA Announces Two Officer-Level Promotions

New York City/28 August 2008 -- NERA Economic Consulting is pleased to announce the following officer-level promotions:

Gregory K. Leonard has been promoted to Senior Vice President, and Jean-Sébastien Lénik has been promoted to Associate Director.

Dr. Leonard is a member of NERA's Antitrust and Intellectual Property Practices. Based in NERA's San Francisco office, he specializes in applied microeconomics and econometrics. Dr. Leonard has extensive experience analyzing competition and estimating damages in a wide variety of contexts. He has provided written and oral testimony and presentations before courts and government agencies on issues involving antitrust, damages estimation, statistics and econometrics, surveys, and labor market discrimination. Dr. Leonard has published widely on the issues of antitrust, industrial organization, labor economics, and econometrics in scholarly journals including the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Journal of Econometrics, and the Antitrust Law Journal. Dr. Leonard co-authored two chapters in the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law (ABA) volume Issues in Competition Law and Policy and was a contributor to the ABA volume Econometrics. He was a consultant to and testified before the Antitrust Modernization Commission. Dr. Leonard is an Associate Editor of the ABA publication Antitrust and has served as a referee for numerous economics journals. He received an ScB in Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University and a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow and an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellow.

Mr. Lénik specializes in economic analysis applied to transfer pricing. Based in NERA's Paris office, he has worked on transfer pricing engagements focusing on complex transactions involving intellectual property, notably in the context of post-merger integration. Mr. Lénik has managed scores of transfer pricing engagements focusing on complex economic and business issues, such as dealing with life cycle pricing of ethical drugs, the development of blueprints for a revised global transfer pricing policy in the context of a global business review, and the design of transfer pricing structures in the context of intangible property rationalization. In addition, he has managed the transfer pricing aspects of numerous tax audits in Europe. Mr. Lénik is a lecturer in transfer pricing at Paris Dauphine University (France). He holds a Master degree from McGill University (Canada) and a Certificate in corporate finance from INSEAD (France).
