Market Risk Policy Expert Christopher Laursen Joins NERA Economic Consulting

29 January 2008/New York -- NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Christopher Laursen has joined the firm as a Senior Consultant.
Mr. Laursen comes to NERA from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, where he most recently served as Manager of the Risk Policy & Guidance Section of the Supervision and Regulation Division. In that position, he managed the BS&R Policy Section responsible for developing all risk-oriented policy and guidance issued to Federal Reserve supervised financial institutions. He also worked closely with other domestic and international financial supervisors and Basel groups to craft appropriate regulatory policies. As a member of Basel's Trading Book group, Mr. Laursen helped develop new international capital and risk management standards for banking firm trading activity.
At NERA, Mr. Laursen will work with clients to provide advisory services and litigation support related to financial company regulatory issues and risk management.

Previous positions Mr. Laursen has held at the Federal Reserve include: Head of Trading & Capital Markets Risk, and Lead Capital Markets Examiner over Bank of America Corporation. Mr. Laursen holds a BA in finance from the University of Miami and an MBA, with a concentration in finance, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
