Experience

Mr. Gottschling is a Principal/ Senior Consultant based in Germany.

He specializes in economic analysis applied to valuation issues, including cost of capital assessment, asset valuation, synergies evaluation, damage calculation, cost-benefit analysis, and benchmarking. His experience includes market as well as regulatory assignments in various sectors, including energy and network industries, high-tech industrial products, and consumer goods, among others. Project assignments have spanned geographies including Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Turkey, North America, and Australia.

At NERA, Mr. Gottschling has gained extensive experience in applying microeconomics and valuation methods, managing complex projects, providing clear and understandable expert reports, conducting workshops with clients, and making complex economics clear in communications with different project stakeholders and authorities.

Prior to joining NERA, Mr. Gottschling worked in the utilities team of Rothschild. He holds an MPhil in economics from the University of Cambridge, Queens' College, and a BSc in economics from the London School of Economics.
