Experience
Dr. Ben-Ishai is a Senior Consultant in NERA's Antitrust and Intellectual Property Practices. His main areas of expertise include industrial organization and applied microeconomics. Dr. Ben-Ishai has over eight years of experience applying economic analysis to areas including antitrust, intellectual property, class certification, and complex damages.
In the context of his antitrust practice, Dr. Ben-Ishai has conducted economic analysis on matters involving tying, bundled discounts, resale price maintenance, exclusive dealing, refusals to deal, predatory pricing, monopolization, mergers, joint ventures, price fixing, and patent misuse. Dr. Ben-Ishai also has extensive expertise estimating complex damages, conducting econometric and statistical analysis, and assessing the appropriateness of class certification. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including payment cards, financial services, telecommunications, semiconductors, internet technology, and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Ben-Ishai received a PhD in economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a BA in economics from UCLA. Prior to joining NERA, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Toulouse and held positions at LECG, Compass Lexecon, and the Israel Antitrust Authority.
