Experience

Dr. Haider specializes in economic research and analyses in the areas of antitrust, labor economics, and commercial damages. She has submitted expert reports and testified in these areas. Dr. Haider has expertise in the application of statistics and econometrics to litigation issues at hand and is adept at working with large, complex data sets to analyze economic hypotheses.

In antitrust, Dr. Haider regularly conducts economic analyses related to allegations of price fixing, bid rigging, monopolization, and fraud disputes. She also specializes in the economics of class certification, where her focus has been on both direct purchaser and indirect purchaser litigation. Dr. Haider has frequently conducted analyses to assess impact and calculate damages in antitrust matters, and has experience critiquing opposing damages models. Dr. Haider has analyzed competitive issues in a wide variety of industries, such as the health care, pharmaceutical, chemical, building products, paper products, polyester staple, airline, financial, and high-tech industries.

In the labor and employment arena, Dr. Haider has expertise in a range of areas including the economics of discrimination, wrongful termination, and personal injury. She has also evaluated claims of economic loss in labor cases. Dr. Haider’s academic research is in the area of labor economics. Her PhD dissertation examined the impact of high-school education on individual political affiliation and support for redistribution in the United States. Dr. Haider's paper on unmarried parenthood and redistributive politics has been published in the Journal of the European Economic Association.

Dr. Haider has received numerous honors for her research in the fields of applied microeconomics and political economy. She received her PhD in economics (with distinction) from Columbia University and her BA in economics, summa cum laude, from Gettysburg College. Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Haider worked as a consultant at the World Bank, where she conducted research on issues such as poverty, employment, and wage inequality.
