Experience
Dr. Milev is a Senior Consultant in NERA's Securities and Finance Practice and specializes in performing expert analysis relevant to SEC and DoJ investigations, hedge fund litigation, securities class actions, and international arbitration disputes. He has performed analyses in several complex cross-border securities litigations involving issuers in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, India, and The Netherlands.
Dr. Milev has submitted affidavit testimony on the question of net revenue derived from a broker's stock loan position.
His areas of expertise include:

- Conducting event studies and evaluating materiality and loss causation
- Analysis of the price impact of block trades
- Quantifying illiquidity and marketability discounts for valuing restricted stock

His dissertation, "Genetic Programming Techniques for Identifying Structural Models Applied to the Earnings-Returns Relation," details his development of a model for how stock prices react to unanticipated accounting earnings.
Dr. Milev earned his PhD in economics from Yale University, where he taught sections of undergraduate courses in microeconomics and econometrics. He holds BA degrees in mathematics and in economics from Amherst College.
