Experience
Dr. Terris is a PhD economist and Vice President in NERA's Los Angeles office. She focuses on the areas of antitrust litigation, merger analysis, damages, and labor. Her specialties include applied microeconomics and econometric methods. She has expertise in the application of statistical methods and econometrics to litigation matters and is adept at working with large complex datasets. Her dissertation was a non-linear multiple regression study on the effects of unemployment and unemployment benefits on employment duration.
At NERA, Dr. Terris has provided economic and econometric analyses related to relevant market definition, mergers and acquisitions, predatory pricing, tying and bundling, price fixing, vertical restraints, exclusive dealing, essential facilities, antitrust damages, class certification, wages and hours, discrimination, and labor-related damages. Her work has been incorporated into expert testimonies and presentations to regulatory agencies. Dr. Terris has submitted white papers and drafted presentations to several international regulatory bodies on such antitrust matters as price fixing, relevant market definition, and determination of pass-through of taxes and/or subsidies.
Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Terris taught labor economics, econometrics, and microeconomic theory at Georgetown University and Wellesley College. She also holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and worked as a project manager for clients in wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, technology, airlines, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, power generation, petroleum, and environmental clean-up. She has project managed a variety of domestic and international projects, including a project in Ukraine where she worked to dismantle nuclear missile silos as part of the START treaty.
