Experience
Dr. Newlon specializes in applying economic and statistical analyses to the areas of antitrust litigation, intellectual property disputes, and labor cases. She has participated in economic analyses of antitrust claims related to horizontal agreements, price fixing, foreclosure, and exclusionary bundling, helping to build expert reports and exhibits. In addition to her antitrust cases, Dr. Newlon's experience includes assessment and critique of pharmaceutical sales forecasts and product valuation. Her extensive labor-related work includes litigation and employer audits for large retailers, a research foundation, and various small companies. Her work in these matters includes evaluating labor discrimination claims and wage and hours cases, covering a range of employment practices such as wages, promotions, hiring, and terminations. Finally, Dr. Newlon has expertise in building and maintaining large and complex databases.
Before joining NERA, Dr. Newlon worked as an Associate Director at Navigant Consulting and, prior to that, as an Economist with Welch Consulting. Dr. Newlon was also an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Kentucky, where she taught graduate-level equilibrium theory and undergraduate classes in microeconomics. Her research while with the university centered on the optimal provision of public goods, such as education and policing. Dr. Newlon has published articles on these subjects and has presented her work at various professional economic conferences and special seminars.
