Experience
Dr. Watts is a member of NERA's Antitrust and Competition Practice. He has analyzed a number of mergers and acquisitions, focusing on issues such as market definition, horizontal and vertical competitive effects, and transaction efficiencies. He has also conducted research for commercial litigation. In the field of environmental economics, he has researched the effects of a cap-and-trade program for emissions. His work has focused on industries such as oil and petroleum products, pharmaceuticals, health care, and life sciences.
Dr. Watts earned his BA, magna cum laude, in economics from Vanderbilt University. He received a PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he taught courses in microeconomics. Dr. Watts's graduate work was focused on the fields of labor economics and development economics.
