Experience
Ms. Kitaychik is a Senior Consultant in NERA's Securities and Finance Practice. She specializes in the analysis of economic issues arising in securities litigation matters, including damages estimation.
Ms. Kitaychik has consulted on projects involving complex financial assets valuation, investment suitability, insider trading, trade execution quality, and broker mark-ups analyses. She has also worked extensively on matters involving subprime and structured finance securities, and risk management.
Ms. Kitaychik has estimated economic, financial, and statistical models for a variety of fields and financial assets including equities and equity derivatives, securitized products, mortgage-backed securities, fixed income securities, credit derivatives, credit cards, and auto loans. She has also consulted and provided analyses on various broker-customer disputes, securities class actions, projects involving mutual fund market timing and the effects of alleged mis-pricing of mutual fund portfolios on investors, and market efficiency. The assignments have spanned a range of industries including mutual and hedge funds, banking, sub-prime mortgage origination, asset management, commodity markets, and computer software. Ms. Kitaychik’s expertise includes applications of quantitative methods in finance, including derivative pricing and statistical methods.
Ms. Kitaychik received her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business, with concentrations in quantitative finance, statistics, and financial instruments and markets. Ms. Kitaychik also holds an MA in economics from Wesleyan University, a BA, summa cum laude, in international economics from the University of Economics and Law (Kiev, Ukraine), and a BSc, cum laude, in engineering from Vinnitsa National Technical University (Ukraine). She also successfully completed advanced (PhD-level) coursework in statistics at Columbia University.
