Experience

Mr. Asayama, a transfer pricing and tax specialist based in Los Angeles, has broad expertise in the economic analysis of international tax concerns for multinational firms in the US and Japan. Project work for Mr. Asayama's clients has included numerous US Internal Revenue Service examinations, and bilateral and unilateral advanced pricing agreement programs, as well as global tax planning, with the Japanese National Tax Administrations.

Prior to joining NERA, Mr. Asayama was a Partner with Ernst & Young LLP’s International Tax Department and a Partner in KPMG’s Tax Corporation in Tokyo. In addition to his position at NERA, Mr. Asayama is owner and managing director of the consulting firm Global Tax Advisory Office. He has published articles in International Taxation and International Legal Strategy, and is a frequent speaker at events in the US and Japan.

Mr. Asayama is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a degree in economics from Yokohama National University.
