Experience

Ms. Fantini is a Senior Consultant based in NERA's Rome office. Since joining NERA, Ms. Fantini has specialized in the regulation of the electricity and gas sectors and in the evaluation of energy infrastructures and regulatory due diligence in Italy and abroad.

Ms. Fantini has advised clients on regulatory issues including incentive mechanisms for renewable energy sources, development of gas exchanges, gas transmission tariffs, capacity payments, network codes, revenue neutrality mechanisms, and unbundling of regulatory accounts. Ms Fantini also has supported clients in their regulatory strategy and throughout due diligence processes on the regulatory issues relevant for the evaluation of infrastructures such as gas storage and gas and electricity distribution networks.

Ms. Fantini's recent projects include regulatory due diligence of two major gas and electricity distribution companies, analysis of incentive mechanisms for renewable energy sources, evaluation of market scenarios for the Italian energy market, analysis of development of gas exchanges, estimation of gas value in Italy, estimation of gas prices in Russia, analysis of capacity payment mechanisms, evolution of generation capacity in Italy, simulation models for merit order dispatch, estimation of emissions in the electricity generation sector, energy taxation, allocation of electricity import capacity, analysis of access arrangements in the electricity and gas sectors, network codes for gas transportation, and unbundling of gas activities and revenue neutrality mechanisms.

Prior to joining NERA, Ms. Fantini was a researcher at Fondazioni Eni Enrico Mattei and a lecturer at the University of Bergamo. She has authored several articles and a book on the privatization process.
