Senior Positions

Our senior positions, Consultant and Senior Consultant, are open to recent PhD graduates in economics, statistics, mathematics, or related fields and to graduates with an advanced degree and five to ten years of economic consulting experience. We generally have openings in our North American offices. Senior staff work independently within a team environment on client advisory projects and litigation casework related to quantitative financial and economic analysis across several industries and markets in one or more of our practice areas. The position is responsible for executing projects, managing junior economists, and dealing with clients; creating quantitative analysis and performing quantitative assessments; applying knowledge of markets to solve complex business problems; preparing client memos, expert reports, and testimony as needed; and presenting results in a clear and articulate manner to clients and team members. In addition, you will have the opportunity to obtain new business, contribute intellectually to the firm overall, write and publish reports, chapters, and books, and participate in speaking engagements at professional conferences.

Researcher Positions

Research positions span four titles from entry-level to experienced -- Research Associate, Associate Analyst, Analyst, and Senior Analyst. These positions are open to recent college graduates and those with a bachelor's degree who have one to four years' experience. We generally have openings in our North American offices. Candidates should have a BA or BS with exceptional analytic skills, strong academic records, and coursework and/or experience in economics, statistics, finance, accounting, regression analysis/econometrics, and computer programming, and proficiency in Word and Excel and knowledge of Access as well as experience using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, or SAS. Research staff provide research analysis and advice to clients in one or more of our practice areas. Responsibilities may include designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends; managing large data sets and writing programs to implement complex analyses; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos, expert reports, and presentation materials; and participating in client and team meetings and conference calls.

Internships

NERA offers a paid summer intern program with openings in most North American offices and internship opportunities throughout the year as needed. Undergraduates who have completed their junior year are preferred. Interns work a minimum 40-hour week, and we ask for a minimum commitment of 10 consecutive weeks between May and August for summer interns.

Candidates should be working toward a BA or BS with exceptional analytic skills, strong academic records, and coursework and/or experience in economics, statistics, finance, accounting, regression analysis/econometrics and computer programming, proficiency in Word and Excel, and knowledge of Access, as well as experience using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, or SAS. Gain experience in research and project work done by full-time, entry level research staff for clients in one or more of our practice areas. Responsibilities may include collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information; building and using spreadsheet models; applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends; creating trial exhibits; drafting memos and presentation materials; and participating in team meetings and conference calls.
