5 December 2018/New York—NERA Economic Consulting, a leading global provider of economic advice and analysis in business, legal, and regulatory matters, announced today that Daniel Hanson has joined the firm’s Energy, Environment, Communications & Infrastructure Practice as a Director.

Daniel Hanson is an expert in the economics and finance of transport and infrastructure. He has extensive experience in strategy, economic appraisal, economic regulation, competition issues, and disputes. He has served on a number of prestigious expert panels, frequently speaks at conferences, and provides thought leadership on key issues facing his clients. Prior to joining NERA, he led PwC’s strategy and economics work in the Transport and Infrastructure Practice in the UK. He has 24 years of experience as a professional economist.

Mr. Hanson is particularly well known for his work on the approvals of multi-billion pound and economically transformational capital projects and as one of the principal architects of the regulatory frameworks for several projects in the rail sector. He is also a former Fellow of the Overseas Development Institute, during which time he served as an international civil servant at the Caribbean Development Bank in Barbados. Mr. Hanson earned his MSc in economics from the University of Warwick and his BSc in economics from the University of Bristol.
