New York, NY, 12 October 2020. NERA Economic Consulting sends its heartfelt congratulations to Stanford University professors Dr. Paul R. Milgrom and Dr. Robert B. Wilson for winning the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2020, recognizing their “improvements to auction theory and inventions of new auction formats.” NERA experts are proud to have worked alongside Dr. Milgrom in applying game theory to antitrust and competition cases.

NERA’s auctions practice is active in designing and implementing auctions across a range of sectors, including energy, mobile telephony, and radio spectrum. NERA Managing Director Richard Marsden lauded the work of the new Nobel laureates: “The pioneering work of Drs. Milgrom and Wilson has inspired tremendous innovation, facilitating new auction designs that support more efficient allocation of scarce resources. At NERA, my colleagues, Dr. Chantale LaCasse, Benjamin Chee, and Dr. Soren Sorensen, and I work at the frontier of this field, pioneering new auction formats and helping buyers and sellers navigate complex bid processes.”
