Experience

Dr. Garrett Glasgow is an economist specializing in damage calculations across a broad range of practice areas, including consumer protection, antitrust, intellectual property, and environmental damage and regulation.

In the area of consumer protection, he has estimated damages related to product mislabeling, product defect, and voting rights cases. He frequently publishes and speaks on the value of privacy and personal information to consumers, most recently at a Federal Trade Commission panel on damages related to the misuse of personal information.

In the area of antitrust, Dr. Glasgow has calculated damages related to price fixing. He has also assessed the competitive effects of proposed mergers and acquisitions.

In the area of intellectual property, he has estimated damages resulting from patent infringement.

In the area of environmental economics, Dr. Glasgow has estimated economic damages resulting from environmental damage, and risk to human health related to regulatory standards on pollution.

He is an expert in econometric and statistical techniques, and survey methods such as conjoint analysis. Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Glasgow was an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of economics, environmental policy, political science, and epidemiology.
