On 18 September, Senior Managing Director George Anstey will participate in the Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum’s conference on the UK’s electricity network. Mr. Anstey will speak in a session titled “Next Steps for Grid Infrastructure in the UK,” which will focus on various aspects of the government’s plans for grid development. He will be joined by experts from Ofgem, Balfour Beatty, Northern Powergrid, and Gresham House Energy Storage Fund. The panel will address:

  • Priorities for the National Energy System Operator, the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan, and the Centralised Strategic Network Plan;
  • The role of traditional energy sources;
  • Progress on the Electricity Networks Transmission Acceleration Action Plan and Connections Plan;
  • Cost, finance, and investor confidence in the government’s plans;
  • Ensuring supply keeps up with demand; and
  • Advancing municipal and community energy projects.
