NERA Senior Vice President Christian Dippon joined a faculty of leading thinkers in the telecommunications industry to discuss Canadian broadband connectivity at this invitational forum in Ontario on 30 April - 2 May 2008. Although Canadian broadband connectivity continues to improve, some argue that Canada has lost the lead it once enjoyed in broadband penetration levels. Concerns also have arisen over the relative speed, pricing, and broadband access in remote and underserved areas. Dr. Dippon and his co-panelists considered whether the current state of broadband services meets the needs of the Canadian market. The role of mobile wireless devices and WiMAX in providing the next generation of broadband connectivity also was explored.
