NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Vinita Juneja participated in this Bright Talk securities litigation webinar on 9 July 2009. Dr. Juneja provided a summary of recent trends in securities litigation arising from the credit crisis -- who is being sued, who is suing, and different types of cases. She discussed issues and analyses relevant to causation, materiality, liability, and damages in these lawsuits, focusing on event studies in a period of uncertainty and also on assessing materiality in a volatile market. Dr. Juneja also discussed considerations relevant to class certification in credit crisis-related class actions and the role of hedge funds in credit crisis-related litigation.
