NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Faten Sabry participated in this CLE program, held in New York City on 5 February 2009.  Dr. Sabry discussed the causes of the current crisis with emphasis on the role of the structured products and leverage. She also examined the use of economic analysis to assess forseeability and analyze allegations in the pending lawsuits. Also participating were Paul Ferrillo of Weil Gotshal, who provided an update on trends in subprime securities class actions nationwide, and Fraser Hunter, Jr., of WilmerHale, who discussed litigation and enforcement issues raised by the economic crisis.
