The Beijing branch of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China hosted a roundtable on 20 October 2010. NERA Principal Sébastien Gonnet of Beijing provided an update of the transfer pricing environment in China, including the most recent information about tax and transfer pricing audits, transfer pricing documentation, and the review process of tax authorities. Mr. Gonnet discussed what is to be expected at the end of 2010 through 2011 for French companies operating in China, and presented recent case studies illustrating the current and upcoming transfer pricing issues facing CFOs and tax managers in China. The case studies included: Managing a Cost-Plus System for a Plant; Justifying the Arm's Length Nature of Transfer Pricing Services; and Successful Sales and Profits in China: How to Repatriate the "Intangibles-Related Profits" to the Parent Company.
