The effective use of expert witnesses is a critical element in any complex litigation. This program, held in New York City on 7 January 2011, provided practical approaches to expert witness selection, preparation, and testimony. NERA Senior Vice President Lucy P. Allen, who is frequently retained to testify as an expert witness, participated in a panel discussion on "Expert Reports and Discovery." The panel discussed the preparation of expert reports, recent amendments to the federal rules, taking and defending expert depositions, and how an expert can assist in deposing the opposing expert.
