The Center for Research in Regulated Industries (CRRI) at Rutgers University, which aims to further study of regulation in economics, finance, and institutions, held its annual Eastern conference in Shawnee on Delaware, Pennsylvania on 16-18 May 2012. On 18 May, NERA Vice President Kurt Strunk participated in a panel session focusing on cost of capital issues. Mr. Strunk delivered a presentation entitled "Optimal Capital Structures for Regulated Public Utilities - When Does an Imputed Debt Ratio Make Sense for Ratemaking Purposes?" In a concurrent panel session on regulation issues, Special Consultant Dr. Karl McDermott presented "Cost of Service Regulation in the Investor Owned Electric Utility Industry: A History of Adaptation."
