The EUEC held its annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona on 31 January - 1 February 2012 to discuss the latest clean technology strategies for the environment and energy security. NERA Senior Vice President Sandra Ringelstetter Ennis was invited to deliver a presentation entitled "Emission Analyses for Pollution Control Projects: The Other NSR Pollutants and GHGs." Ms. Ringelstetter Ennis discussed the calculations and potential issues encountered when performing the emission analyses under the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) regulations for pollution control projects. Using a hypothetical case study, she demonstrated the unique calculations used for a multi-unit flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) installation; the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission analysis to determine if GHGs are a New Source Review (NSR) regulated pollutant; and considerations for the other NSR regulated pollutants.
