In spite of the global economic downturn, investment in energy storage has increased since 2010 and is forecast to grow impressively over the next several years. This conference, hosted by SMi Group in London on 25-26 June 2012, brought together key experts and industry participants to assess the future role of energy storage and demand-side participation in the electric sector. On the first day of the conference, NERA Director Sean Gammons delivered a presentation entitled "Investment Drivers and Market Reform for Electricity Storage." Mr. Gammons discussed market fundamentals and sources of value for storage, as well as the implications of key market reforms in the UK and Europe for storage investment.
