The annual Nuclear Energy Assembly was held in Charlotte, North Carolina on 21-23 May 2012. NERA Affiliated Consultant Edward Kee was asked to participate in a panel discussion entitled "Building the Next Generation of Nuclear Energy." The discussion was part of a larger session focusing on the growth of the nuclear industry in the US and abroad. The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has recently approved construction of four advanced reactors, with more under consideration.  Worldwide, more than 150 nuclear reactors are in the licensing and advanced planning stage, with 67 under construction. Mr. Kee and his co-panelists discussed what the future for expansion looks like in the US and globally.
