NERA sponsored the Second International White Collar Crime Conference, hosted by the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section and the City of London Law Society's Corporate Crime & Corruption Committee in London on 7-8 October 2013. On the first day of the conference, Dr. Vinita Juneja, Senior Vice President and Co-Chair of NERA's White Collar Criminal Litigation, Investigations, and Compliance Practice, participated in a panel discussion entitled "The Globalization of Enforcement Actions and Internal Investigations." The panel focused on the challenges presented by the globalization of enforcement actions and internal investigations. Specifically, Dr. Juneja and her co-panelists discussed recent trends in the field, including analysis of current investigations and cases, best practices when structuring and executing international internal investigations, and the challenges of privilege issues in the international setting. Dr. Juneja's focus was on how economic experts address the challenges of multi-jurisdictional enforcement actions and accompanying litigation, as well on considerations relevant to liability and damage work in such cross border actions and disputes.
