This C5 forum, held in Amsterdam on 30 January 2014, examined mechanisms for class, collective, and other group actions in Europe and beyond. As part of the program, NERA Associate Director Robert Patton presented a statistical analysis of trends in US securities class actions against non-US issuers, as well as trends in securities-related collective and class actions in key non-US jurisdictions. He also discussed considerations relating to the calculation of damages in cross-border class actions.
