NERA Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska was invited to join a distinguished panel of former regulators and enforcement officers for a policy briefing forum in Washington, DC on 16 January 2014. The discussion was moderated by former US Senator Blanche Lincoln, and featured a lively debate on best practices for balancing regulatory enforcement.  Dr. Brown-Hruska, former Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, was joined by Paul Atkins, former Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission; Curt Hébert, former Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; and Brigham McCown, former Administrator at the Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
