With the rise of high-profile patent litigation, patent trolls, and the America Invents Act, defending an organization's intellectual property has become more critical than ever. This conference, held in New York City on 16 January 2014, examined the current and future landscape of intellectual property litigation in the US, as well as recent developments that are shaping defense strategies. As part of the program, NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Christine Siegwarth Meyer, who frequently testifies on economic damages in patent disputes, participated in a panel discussion on preparing for patent litigation and trial. Dr. Meyer and her co-panelists discussed how to prepare internal management and the organization for litigation, manage costs and risks, and set clear objectives for defense.
