Law Seminars International held a conference in Las Vegas on 27-28 February 2014 to address emerging issues in the ratemaking environment for regulated gas and electric companies. On the second day of the conference, NERA Vice President Kurt Strunk participated in a panel session on calculating return on equity. Mr. Strunk shared his views from an economic perspective on the need to change methodologies to reflect changing interest rates, and discussed the emergence of privately held utilities as major players in the electric utility industry.
