Leading experts convened in Las Vegas on 26-28 February 2014 for an overview of bankruptcy-related valuation issues. On the first day of the program, NERA Senior Consultant William P. Hrycay participated in a panel discussion entitled "Markets vs. Models: Lessons Learned From Empirical Evidence." Mr. Hrycay and his co-panelists considered the robustness of financial models and valuation techniques in assessing the value of financially distressed businesses vis-à-vis the market for debt and equity securities of such businesses. The panel also addressed questions of market efficiency as well as the market versus model-driven estimates.
