NERA Associate Director Dr. Soren Tang Sorensen gave a presentation on the second day of this IRG workshop on spectrum and mobile broadband. Dr. Sorensen’s session gave an introduction to spectrum awards, defining policy objectives in awards (e.g., competition, coverage etc.) and different methods to reach the objectives, award procedures (FCFS, comparative award, auction, pros and cons), auction formats used in spectrum auctions (examples in Europe), and parameters in awards (e.g. license duration).
