NERA Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska, former Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will participate in a panel discussion at the 7th Conference on Current Topics in Financial Regulation. The conference, which will take place at Gleacher Center in Chicago, IL, is a two-day, invitation-only program of panel discussions and presentations from regulators, industry leaders, and academics on current topics in financial regulation, technology, and risk.

Dr. Brown-Hruska will join Matt Andresen from Headlands Technology, Rajeev Ranjan of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and Jamie Selway of Investment Technology Group (ITG) in a discussion of high-frequency trading (HFT) and algorithmic trading, as well as the proposed Regulation Alternative Trading System (ATS), latency, mini-flash crashes, and other regulation and market structure questions surrounding HFT.
