NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Jeff D. Makholm and Vice President Oksana Kitaychik will participate in panel discussions at the International Bar Association’s annual conference, which offers a wide variety of sessions aimed at exchanging knowledge within the global community of legal practitioners. The conference will draw more than 6,000 delegates from around the world and will feature more than 200 substantive legal sessions, workshops, and panels.

For the second year, the Oil and Gas Law Committee has invited Dr. Makholm to participate alongside senior counsel in energy law and arbitration on a panel addressing issues related to the growing impact of natural gas in the world. This year, the panel will discuss “Liquefied Natural Gas, An Essential Part of the Energy Power Game.”

Ms. Kitaychik will join partners from leading law firms and a former government minister in discussing “Puerto Rico and Other Developments in Sovereign Debt Restructuring.” Ms. Kitaychik and the other panelists will examine the treatment of sovereign, quasi-sovereign and municipal debt, the role of the courts, political considerations, and economic considerations, among other topics.
