Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) held its Launching Conference of the CIDE Electricity Policy Group (CEPG) on 14-15 April 2016. The CEPG’s objective is to provide a neutral academic forum for the analysis and discussion of important policy issues facing the electricity industry. NERA Principal Veronica Irastorza participated on a panel with Richard O’Neill, Chief Economic Advisor for FERC, and Marcos Valenzuela, Head of Market Administration for CENACE. The panel’s topic was “Different generation markets in Mexico (spot, one-day-ahead, etc.), and energy and capacity auctions.” Ms. Irastorza discussed Mexican electricity long-term auctions.
